Corporate Pilot

Creating the optimal path to an organisation’s destination
As a Corporate Pilot™ we work with the boards and executive management teams of companies to craft the shortest and most secure path to improving organisational performance and achieving their purpose.
The term was inspired by the role of a harbour pilot or maritime pilot. A harbour pilot is a very experienced mariner who joins a ship to help guide it through dangerous or congested waters. Pilots are selected for their experience, their knowledge of the local waters, local conditions and all relevant procedures. At all times, the captain remains in control and relies on the pilot as an important advisor.
The use of a pilot reduces errors and most importantly creates the optimal and most secure path to the destination.
Companies and organisations, like ships, require significant investments and are difficult to captain. They are also vulnerable to their environment and travel through dangerous and hazardous periods of operations. As a Corporate Pilot™ we join the boards or executive teams of companies and help them find the fastest, optimal and most secure route to reach their goal and purpose.
Some of the treacherous times for a company:
- Managing the key growth transitions as revenue and staff grows to the thousands and billions of turnover
- Moving from being a local to a regional or to an international company
- Dealing with a rapid change in the marketplace
- Change in majority ownership
- The retirement of the original founders and passing of control to next generation
- Managing through adverse trading conditions or highly competitive environments
- Managing through a significant business crisis
